Tokyo DisneySea is part of the Tokyo Disney Resort Complex, originally just Tokyo Disneyland. DisneySea opened in 2001, and as its name suggests, it’s more nautical-themed and overlooks Tokyo Bay. The shows and attractions at DisneySea are based on myths and legends of the sea.

Another Port of Call is the Jules Verne-inspired Mysterious Island, where you can board Captain Nemo’s submarine and explore the ocean or journey to the centre of the Earth. And while most Disney parks have a princess’ castle as their centrepiece, DisneySea has an active volcano that erupts during the day—it’s completely safe, by the way!

Mermaid Lagoon is the turf of Ariel and her friends, with plenty of fun attractions suitable for kids. There’s even an underwater-themed playground for the little ones!

Finally, there’s the American Waterfront, reminiscent of 20th-century New York, New England, and Cape Cod harbours. Its coastline is dotted with American-style restos and shops. You can also hop aboard the S.S. Columbia steam liner to journey the park's waters.

What rides and attractions are at DisneySea?
