'I didn't bother to look at the topic - I just saw The Marketing Society logo and I knew it would be a brilliant event.'This was a comment made to me in Singapore on Wednesday as this person came into the room. You will understand how happy this made me feel😀However, THIS event had a particularly interesting and important topic - one I was so delighted we were covering.————-On Wednesday this week The Marketing Society hosted rhe Singapore launch of the 'Stakeholder Impact Study' - a gamechanging C-suite study about business evolving to stakeholder capitalism ('humanised growth'). The Institute for Real Growth has led this work (with a number of partners including The Marketing Society) in association with Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. We were delighted to have Marc de Swaan Arons sharing the key insights from this study live at an event in GroupM building - thanks to WPP Growth Club for hosting. ——————-I would strongly recommend reading the outputs from this study which showcases the key factors behind outperforming businesses. The insights were followed by a discussion reflecting on the implications of this study for marketers and for Singapore and Asia as a region. Gita de Beer who is part of The Marketing Society’s brilliant board in Singapore, beautifully hosted the conversation with thought-provoking perspectives from Rupen Desai, Camellia Tan and Helen McRae. Huge kudos to Gita de Beer for her leadership on this event, working with Brynie B McBurney to make it happen - and enormous thanks to the panel and to Marc de Swaan Arons making time on his world tour to be part of this - and thanks to everyone who joined the evening. There will be a London launch coming on May 7th (details coming soon). See the study findings here: perspectives on the future of stakeholder capitalism and how to unlock humanised growth in your organisation: ➡️https://lnkd.in/enHkhr86#leadership #changemakers #inspiration

"What would you change in the world if you had only 3 years to live, rather than what you thought you have?"This thought provoking question set the stage for passionate debates during our event last Monday, June 24, where an eclectic mix of alumni, ecosystem partners, and key influencers converged. It marked a pivotal moment for the CSP Singapore to kickstart the 3Cs event seriesKey takeaways from this first event of the series that we had the great pleasure to host:◾ Connectand collaborate with kindred spirits, advocate for policy changes that support sustainable practices, and challenge conventional norms. It’s about being part of a broader movement towards a more equitable and sustainable future◾ Calibratewhat we do and how we do it, where financial prosperity is measured not just in dollars and cents, but in the lives improved and environments preserved.◾ Changeis not just a reflection of our values; it is also a powerful testament to our belief in the transformative power of capital to drive meaningful progress. In our collective journey forward, we at CSP Singapore see ourselves continuing to embrace this optimism to drive towards a future where we actively create impact, ensuring shared prosperity, respect for resources, and thriving opportunities for the future generation.

Energy Leader | Powering a Just Transition | Visionary Changemaker | Radical Mentor | One Young World Ambassador

Humbled to announce my recognition as the One Young World (OYW) Ambassador of the month!6 years ago, I was at a remote #Shell facility in Nigeria, in charge of managing the power network when someone forwarded me an email. The Netherlands’ Corporate Relations team were searching for 10 employees below 30 who had demonstrated leadership in #sustainability, #energy transition or #education to sponsor for the first OYW Summit hosted in the Hague. I learnt that #OYW was the largest global annual youth event outside the Olympics which identifies, connects, and coaches under 30 leaders from diverse sectors, amplifying their voices on a global platform. So, I applied, though feeling my chances were limited. But, I made it! I got the scholarship, and the summit was better than I imagined. Post summit, attendees are inducted as OYW ambassadors, a community with tens of thousands of young leaders, and described by Justin Trudeau as “An unparalleled network of leaders from every corner of the world”.During my application, I described my vision ofa world where energy resources are fairly distributed and utilized efficiently with minimal environmental impact. That’s a vision I still hold on to today, which inspired thelaunch ofthe Sabi Lifestyle Challenge. The objectivewas to empower people to makeinformed energy choices, and I was pleased to have thousands register and getoverwhelming positive feedback from the first iteration in January. 3 weeks ago, I was extremely delighted to be announced as the OYW ambassador of the month for the impact I’ve had, especially the SABI project. This recognition amongst thousands of other ambassadors who are equally making an impact was humbling. I thought long and hard on if and how to share this news, but I finally did, hopefully so my experience inspires others. On reflection, here are 3 lessons:1.Find a vision that inspires, because sometimes only that vision will sustain you. As you execute your vision, remember that no human is an island, and leverage collaboration to create a shared vision. 2.Find ways to contribute in any group, community or place you find yourself. It doesn’t have to be big ways, but, play your part, and it will have a ripple effect.3.You never know who is watching, but never do things because you expect someone watching. Let me know which of these reflections you resonate with in the comments.#goals #vision #sabilifestyle

This is a delayed post but here are my take homes from the World Economic Forum.South Africa's diverse culture is becoming a valuable commodity, with food acting as a backdrop to showcase the country's rich heritage. As Brand Manager to this culinary savant, I was proud to witness how Chef Wandile Mabaso is using his culinary expertise to highlight the intersection of indigenous and fine dining, reimagining traditional South African ingredients. At the World Economic Forum, Chef Wandile showcased the culinary diversity of South Africa, proving that the country's cuisine is a valuable commodity. I’ve come to understand that experience of the intangible is the essence of truly communicating what culture is. It is no longer that South Africa has 9 different cultures, it is the magic of their amalgamation that is the true commodity, intentionally underpinned by the experiences created through cuisine, art, hospitality and travel through the South African lens. I would go so far as to say that this is the New Gold Rush; the new frontier of what Culture will be recognised as in the coming decade. An event like the World Economic Forum provides a platform for South African Brands to demonstrate the ROI of investing in South Africa's food, travel & hospitality industries, which is not just about financial gain but also about preserving cultural heritage and promoting sustainable businesses in South Africa and Africa at large. My experience at the World economic forum has highlighted that the world is ready to invest and experience in the intangible. I truly believe that culture is the newest commodity for South africa and is a testament to the power of culture to unite people and create something truly special. If people can become intentional about creating businesses about who we are, the next raw material export from this continent is cultural focused business opportunities that are innate and specific to South Africans, that benefit the communities where it originates.

Check the line up on the flyer 🥰Most people want to avoid “hard.” They want to avoid the things that are difficult, the things that are challenging them, and the things that are pushing them. After they write exams they think that the hard part of their life is over, so now they want things to be easy. But, life doesn’t get easier. You just have to learn how to work through the hard until it becomes familiar to you. So, you have to ask yourself,Is staying in a job that you hate, getting paid a fraction of what you’re worth, is that hard or easy? Is running your own company , paying office rent , paying workers is that hard or easy ? Is #building a network marketing business and motivating yourself and employing yourself and developing your skills and dealing with your emotional ups and downs and dealing with the NOs -is that hard or easy?Well, I #chose my #hard, to help people build their brands and expose them to International markets (The hard part is some never return to give gratitude, some become competitors, others undermine your leadership etc ) As a #leader I have learnt to #support and #love them all. I am excited for the Creative Leadership enabled byInitiatives of Change Initiatives of Change Switzerland for which I have successfully registered on the rolling basis. Then hurry up if you want to accompany with a peer like me (link at: https://lnkd.in/gQacQy87). I am so happy that I've determined enough to equip myself with instructed storytelling skills even though before I have had certainly to be accepted for the Summer School in Management of Creativity for a resilient society atMosaic-HEC Montréalwhich is one among my forever honor!I strongly believe that with more proper storytelling I can communitate with my communities and our initiatives' stakeholders in a more approriate ways with higher efficiency of communications, as what I am hugely impacted by the talk by "Media is hope" by the Local Conference of Youth Conference in Japan 2022 byYPFP (Young Professionals in Foreign Policy),YPFP (Young Professionals in Foreign Policy)(which also starts call for participants for LCOY Japan 2023 now!), and WomEnpowered International (WE Int.) where I serve the Community building the past 2 years. Besides, I also hope that the skill would strengthen my capacitity in delivering the impacts by the globalSocial Business Creation (open door to our gobal community at: https://lnkd.in/gbQCGdB2) to which I have been an ambassador for, and some other initiatives I am part of on my available time out of my full-time work and my housewok with a focus on Asia-Pacific and Southest Asia.Last but not least, I hope that by an additional readiness for upskilling, I would be a more efficient companiance of my son, my friends, some of my teeenage mentees who is participating the Science Cattle byLeave a Nest Co., Ltd., and more.P/S: I can imagine that all the three initiatives I am in support as I introduced in my video about the book by former CEO of SAP last year altogether find a place in this post.
