Feminine products are controversial, in my opinion. My name is Paula Parker and I go into depth about: wellness, health, my personal views/feelings, and mental health. As I have learned over the years, tampons, feminine body wash, and regular body wash for your vagina affect your system negatively. When I was 17, I found out I had an UTI. I was having sex, was using body wash on my vagina, and I was using a feminine wash to help get rid of the UTI. I found out within a month how toxic feminine products were to my vagina. Feminine wash does not work to help the smell, body wash should not on your vagina and tampons have toxic chemicals in them which can cause cancer.

-Feminine wash should be your enemy

Oh how I hate feminine wash! I found out that it does not, in fact, balance your PH unlike how the label at the store promises you. When my UTI formed, I started to realize that the PH balance wash was not helping. I did my research and found out that the soap overstimulates your PH and make your PH unbalanced. This will cause you to feel itchy and smell gross. When I started to realize that I was still having problems, I looked up other ways such as remedies such as fruit, water, and clean food would get rid of the problem. Blueberries every night solved my UTI, how can that be but the products we buy don’t solve the problem? Because your body needs those clean foods to keep your PH balanced. I as well drink juices to make sure my health is in check, especially when I was having sex. As for a UTI, there are pills you can take that will help the smell and itchiness you can use, such as AZO and for discharge, PHd will help clear out your system. Doing this when you feel your PH is off, take the PHd pill and stick it up you right before you head to bed, you will notice discharge in the morning which is all the gunk that was in you, it’s essentially cleaning the bad germs out of your system.

-Balance your PH by eating fruits, not using a scented wash or any wash

Similar to PH vaginal body wash, regular body wash will do the same thing. I would scrub down there with a scented body wash instead of just water. Water is all you need to do when you are in the shower, we are not supposed to smell like a candy or a flower! That’s not a natural smell whatsoever. Do not put any chemical or scented based products down there, that will only make it worse. If you want to shave, find a light scent that would be gentle down there and use the shaving cream only on the the body, no where on the flaps of the vagina, that will cause you to get an infection. If men are reading this, I have done research and yes, men can get UTI’s as well. Do the same thing as women to make sure your PH is balanced. Have a good diet with some sort of fruit added into your meals or have juices. As well as only using water.

-Tampons can cause cancer

How should I go about my period if I only use tampons? I personally use a diva cup for many reasons. Tampons, on the other hand, have toxic chemicals such as: lead and arsenic, which cause cancer. By switching to a diva cup, I am helping out the environment by not wasting tampon after tampon and I don’t have to worry about spending $16 for tampons to only have it last for 4 hours. Diva cups also can be used for a longer amount of time, overnight and doesn’t feel uncomfortable. Another way for period collection is period underwear. Although I feel weary of using this because I would feel gross having my blood in underwear, that is an option as well if you are wanting to not have anything stuck up you.

Whether you choose to eat fruit or drink juices, make sure to check your Ph level by looking at discharge, color of your pee, and the color of your period blood. It is time to throw away the scents, once again, we are not supposed to smell like candy!! Make sure you take care of yourself before having sex. Pee before and after to prevent infections. Shower after sex to also prevent a smell or infection.

A happy vagina is a happy person,

XOXO,

Paula Parker
